2018 Guthrie ‘Clones’ Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills, SA
The cool climate of the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills produces lovely tight versions of Chardonnay when in the hands of clever winemakers, such as Hugh Guthrie.
This fruit was picked from a single block in the quiet of morning, naturally fermented and allowed to go through natural malolactic fermentation. The result is a wine with lovely mouthfeel and a great balance between cool-climate tension and palate coating creaminess.
